"The missing link between Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky"
This is how a witty critic characterized the late-Romantic composer, Paul Juon.
Juon, who was of Swiss descent on his father’s side, was born in Moscow in 1872. From 1898 until 1934 he worked in Berlin, but spent his last years in Vevey on Lake Geneva, where he died in 1940.
The IJG was founded in Zurich on 3rd June, 1998. Its aim is to promote Juon’s music at an international level by offering assistance in the organization of concerts in Switzerland and abroad, and in issuing recordings and new editions of his works. Moreover the IJG encourages and supports research relating to Paul Juon.
On this homepage you will find information about Juon, whose achievements as a composer are insufficiently known in the world of music even today. Statutes of IJG
